About Meyer Wright Photography

Meyer Wright Photography truly believes that pictures can say a thousand words, and that is exactly what we try to portray in each image. We love seeing the expressions and emotions that play out in all the events we have the privilege to document. From weddings to children’s portraits, there is always something wanting to be said; we try to let the image speak for itself. The best way to sum up our style is that we capture life as it happens.

We approach every event as an observer. We allow children to be children, brides to be beautiful and comfortable, and families to show their dynamics. We don’t try to conduct the event, we just merely watch with camera in hand. We are photojournalistic in style and use guided natural portraiture. We consider our approach fun, fresh, and new.

The idea for Meyer Wright Photography was conceived in July of 2005 by Mindy Meyer and Thelen Wright. Mindy has had a passion for photography for many years. She knew she was “hooked” on photography when she developed her first roll of black and white. She has been shooting since 1997, and has been continuing her education in the fast-paced world of photography. She believes it is a gift and a privilege to work with people and preserve their memories. She has had the opportunity to photograph children, families, weddings, and special occasion events.

Thelen’s love for photography began when she received a camera on her 21st birthday, and she hasn’t slowed down since. She began taking pictures of friends and children; which quickly extended into weddings. With the delight of each photo shoot, she realized this was more than a hobby, it was a calling. Thelen has attended several photography classes to broaden her knowledge and techniques. She believes that life is art, and by capturing an image she creates a work of art. Taking pictures of these exciting moments shows others the precious slices of time life has to hold.
